先日、ふらりとマカオへ小旅行に行ってきました。

目的は‼️

マカオ歴史市街地区に登録されている世界遺産30カ所をすべて巡ること！

限られた時間のなかでの挑戦でしたが、東洋と西洋が融合した歴史ロマンにどっぷり浸かる旅になりました👼

■歩き旅のスタートは「媽閣廟」と「バラ広場」から

マカオに到着して、まず向かったのが世界遺産の南端に位置する媽閣廟（マーコウミウ）とバラ広場（バラ・ガーデン）。

媽閣廟は、マカオの名前の由来とも言われる「海の女神・媽祖」を祀るお寺で、地元の人々の信仰が息づく厳かな場所。ここから旅を始めたことで、まるでマカオの守り神に見守られているような、そんな不思議な感覚になりました🧚‍♀️

バラ広場は、ゆったりとした時間が流れるローカル感のある憩いの場で、まだ観光客が多くない朝の静けさが心地よく、ここから世界遺産巡りのウォーキングがスタートしました🏃‍♀️‍➡️

途中では世界遺産の象徴ともいえる有名スポットの

▫️聖ポール天主堂跡（大三巴牌坊）

正面だけが残されたファサードが、青空に映えて美しい！写真スポットとしても最高です。

▫️セナド広場（議事亭前地）

黒と白の波模様の石畳が特徴の広場。日中もにぎやかですが、夜のライトアップも幻想的でした✨

今回の世界遺産めぐりでは、徒歩を中心にしつつ、ところどころバスも活用しました。

マカオの旧市街エリアは実は比較的コンパクトで、徒歩で回れる範囲が多いのが魅力。ただし、媽閣廟から聖ポール天主堂跡のような長距離移動や、少し外れた場所にある遺産へ向かう際は路線バスが便利！

しかも、市内バスの運賃は一律6パタカ（約100円未満）。小銭やマカオパス（ICカード）を使えば簡単に乗れます。

なんとAlipayでも支払いができました‼️

バス停も頻繁にあるので、疲れたタイミングでちょっと乗るのもおすすめです。観光客でも使いやすく、エアコンも効いていて快適でした。

そして途中では、

・エッグタルトの名店「マーガレット・カフェ・ナタ」

・ポルトガル料理レストランで食べたバカリャウ（干し鱈）

・路地裏のローカルなワンタン麺屋さん

世界遺産の合間に、こうしたローカルグルメを挟むことで、歩き疲れも吹き飛びました😳✨

今回、全30カ所すべてを1日で制覇できたのは自分でもちょっと感動！

でも、時間に追われて駆け足になってしまったスポットも多く、次はもっとゆっくり、1日1～2カ所くらいのペースで巡ってみたいとも感じました。

次回はコロアネやタイパの方まで足をのばして、自然やビーチも楽しみたいなと思います💖

世界遺産に興味がある方はもちろん、ヨーロッパ風の街並みに癒されたい方にもとてもおすすめのところです！！

A trip to Macau’s World Heritage sites 🇲🇴✨

The other day, I went on a short trip to Macau.

The purpose was‼️

To visit all 30 World Heritage sites registered in the Historic Centre of Macau!

It was a challenge in a limited time, but it was a trip that immersed me in the historical romance that blends the East and the West👼

■The walking trip started at “A-Ma Temple” and “Rose Square”

After arriving in Macau, the first place I went to was A-Ma Temple (Ma Kou Miu) and Rose Square (Rose Garden), located at the southern end of the World Heritage site.

A-Ma Temple is a temple dedicated to “Mazu, the Goddess of the Sea,” who is said to be the origin of the name Macau, and is a solemn place where the faith of the local people lives. Starting the journey from here, I had a strange feeling as if I was being watched over by the guardian deity of Macau 🧚‍♀️

Raba Square is a place of relaxation with a local feel where time flows slowly, and the morning quietness when there are not many tourists is comfortable, and it is from here that we started our walk around the World Heritage sites 🏃‍♀️‍➡️

On the way, we passed a famous spot that can be said to be a symbol of the World Heritage sites, 

▫️Ruins of St. Paul’s (Da Sanpaifang)

The facade, with only the front remaining, stands out beautifully against the blue sky! It’s also a great photo spot.

▫️Senado Square (In front of the Parliament Building)

A square characterized by black and white wave-patterned cobblestones. It’s lively during the day, but the lighting at night was also fantastic ✨

This time, we mainly walked around the World Heritage sites, but also used buses in some places.

Macau’s old town area is actually relatively compact, and the appeal is that there are many areas that can be explored on foot. However, if you are going long distances, such as from A-Ma Temple to the Ruins of St. Paul’s, or if you are heading to a heritage site that is a little further away, the local bus is convenient!

Moreover, the fare for city buses is a flat rate of 6 patacas (about less than 100 yen). You can easily ride with coins or a Macau Pass (IC card).

You can even pay with Alipay! ️

There are frequent bus stops, so it’s recommended to take a quick ride when you’re tired. It’s easy for tourists to use, and the air conditioning was working well and it was comfortable.

And along the way,

・Margaret Cafe Nata, a famous egg tart shop

・Bacalhau (dried cod) at a Portuguese restaurant

・A local wonton noodle shop in an alleyway

Snack on these local gourmet foods in between the World Heritage sites and blow away the fatigue of walking 😳✨

I was a little impressed that I was able to conquer all 30 places in one day this time! However, I was pressed for time and rushed through many spots, so next time I would like to take it slower and visit one or two places a day.

Next time, I would like to go to Coloane or Taipa and enjoy the nature and beaches💖

I highly recommend this place not only to those who are interested in World Heritage sites, but also to those who want to relax in a European-style townscape! !
